I believe riding a bike is freedom in its purest form and want to share that joy with everyone affordably.
I’ve lived in Metro-Atlanta for 30+ years and earned both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Georgia State University. Growing up in the suburbs and studying in the city shaped my passion for safe cycling, pedestrian infrastructure, and public transit. I believe everyone deserves the freedom to move safely—by bike, train, or foot—not just by car.

Testimonials
I had built up a lot of fear and anxiety around riding a bike. I was actually avoiding activities involving bikes because I was nervous I was going to fall or not be able to do it. In less than an hour working with Bavard, that fear was completely gone. The way he spoke and the techniques he utilized made me confident in myself but also made me feel excited to progress my skills.

I am maybe the least coordinated person who’s ever managed not to break any bones. I was terrified to ride a mountain bike despite feeling confident on a road bike, but when I started writing a book with a main character who’s an Evil Knievel of sorts, it was time for me to get over my fears. Bavard through equal measure of patience and equal measure of pushing me to challenge my limiting beliefs helped me find joy on a mountain bike — and helped my characters find it, too.

Bavard coordinated and led a brilliant group cycle for interested colleagues to enable greener commuting while a key transit stop was closed during Earth Month. There were riders of all comfort and skill levels, and Bavard demonstrated incredible kindness and patience to get us all from A to B safely!

I participated in an Earth Month group ride to encourage sustainable work commuting, which Bavard organized. He did a wonderful job ensuring all participants had a plan for when and when to meet (we met at the Marta station closest to work), and once we were on the road Bavard kept us riding in the safest conditions (smaller neighborhood streets, using the right hand signals, making ourselves visible to cars etc). I was the last to leave work that day and Bavard waited for me to finish up so he could join me on the ride home, to make sure I was not riding by myself. I felt very safe and confident riding alongside Bavard, and will absolutely join him whenever he organizes another group ride.

In the hopes of making cycling available to all and to eliminate barriers to entry I offer flexible lesson pricing based on an income/needs basis including potentially free classes. You will need to request this specifically and I ask that you reserve this privilege for those who truly need it. This will operate on an honor system but income verification in the form of a recent tax return may be required and time/availability for free or reduced rate classes may be limited.
